Day 1 - New Friends

HEYYY campers! What an exciting way to kick off the week! With absolutely perfect weather, we spent plenty of time outside enjoying the sunshine. The day began with a competitive round of Cardio Pictionary, where campers had to chase counselors around to collect hints for what they were drawing. For those looking for a quieter start to the day, fortune teller making was the perfect alternative.

Each session begins with 2:6 Time, during which campers work with their counselors to create a group contract outlining the behaviors they want to encourage and those they want to avoid throughout the week. Staff have already seen great examples of campers holding one another accountable to these agreements. While the "Slime Magpie" campaign may not be the staff's favorite activity, it has certainly been fun watching campers bond over their shared goal of sliming the adults at camp! This time has also been perfect for making camp braids and playing a lively game of Grounders.

After lunch, campers chose two of three exciting Choice Activities: Fort Dodgeball, Beaded Animals, and Just Dance. As names are learned and new friendships begin to form, everyone is excited for the adventures the rest of the week has in store. With warm weather in the forecast, please make sure campers arrive well rested, well hydrated, and packed with sunscreen so they can enjoy every minute of camp!
