Hey campers! Today the sun was shining and sky was smoke free, so all our activities were outside if possible. Our first activity was Tiger Tails: this game includes pinnie “tails” with betrayals, alliances and so much fun!
For social skills we learned about problem solving with our emotions. Throughout your life you are going to encounter problems. Some are going to teeny-tiny problems and some are going to be BIG problems. When faced with a problem it is important to think about how big the problem is, and then react appropriately. Sometimes we get big emotions and it can be hard to know what to do with them, but a good way to manage them is to think about how your reaction reflects the problem. Campers practiced this skill through a hula hoop challenge, Find Your Dude, and a water bucket carry.
Clubs today was very energetic as friendships strengthened. Science club took on a water filter challenge with a variety of resources. Art club used some of the leftover coffee filters and turned them into a blur of colourful butterflies. Sports club carried all their energy into an awesome game of soccer.
After lunch, choice activities were spa day, mission impossible, and gaga ball. Spa day had a variety of low energy activities such as makeup, facemasks, yoga, nail painting, and hair braiding. Some of the makeup was glittery, while others were scary skeletons. Mission Impossible was run by our CITs, and had some EPIC challenges. Gaga ball never fails to disappoint with high competitive rounds.
