Hey campers! Today the grass was wet and slippery so our high energy games remained inside. Our first activity was Tiger Tails: this game includes pinnie “tails” with betrayals, alliances and so much fun!

For social skills, the kiddos learned strategies for all the Zones of Regulations. Every day we are exposed to many different things, such as new people, places and situations, so it is important that we recognize that there are different times in the day where we might feel different ways. Something might give us the happiest feeling, or trigger a more upsetting and negative emotion. If we recognize that the zones we are in when we wake up do not have to be the same zones we go to sleep in, it can help us try to be more positive or look for a change. For green zone we worked on breathing techniques. In blue zone we made sensory sticks. Yellow zone is when energy is rising to an extreme, in which our DIY stress balls can be used.

Next, campers selected a club that they'll continue with for the rest of the session. The Sports Club took on basketball drills and games, putting their eye work to the test. STEM Club created pipe cleaner crystals, although the borax crystals themselves will need a few days to grow from the supersaturated solution. Meanwhile, Art Club got creative with melty bead projects that they'll continue over the next two days.

After lunch we had choice block. Archery was a very popular choice as everyone took on their inner Hawkeye. Low choice was comic book making, which also involved many secret handshakes to be made. Our third option was various games of dodgeball. This fantastic day ended with camp favorite, Steps.
