DAY TWO! What a crazy day filled with so much fun! Friendships grew, games were played, and the staff were thoroughly entertained. The day kicked off with a game of Phobias, run by our S.T.A.R. members! Campers put their observation skills to the test as they searched for clues to uncover each counselor’s greatest fear.

For social skills, camp learned all about the Zones of Regulation. Since we experience different emotions every day, it can sometimes be challenging to understand what we are feeling, why we are feeling that way, and how we can help ourselves feel better. By learning more about our emotions, we can recognize them in ourselves and better understand them in the people around us.  Campers practiced these skills through Zones Telestrations, Zones Bingo, and the Great Zone Scramble. Of course, there was also plenty of pie involved in today’s activities!

Next, campers selected a club that they will continue participating in for the rest of the session. Sports Club took on a variety of dodgeball games, putting their teamwork and hand-eye coordination to the test. STEM Club explored density by experimenting with saltwater saturation to help an egg float. Meanwhile, Art and Music Club got creative with finger knitting.

All of our Choice Activities were held outside, and the warm weather left everyone a little sweaty by the end of the day. Hopefully, that means every kiddo gets a well-earned early bedtime! Our counselor-in-training, Foxglove, led a game of Capture the Ball and Mafia for high choice. Medium choice was a competitive game of soccer, while low choice campers created their own imaginative comics.

As always, we finished the day with "Steps". Kiddos use this time to recognize other campers for nice actions throughout the day. With the warm weather this week we will expect to be outside as much as possible. Inside jokes are already running rampant, and the slime campaigns continue to grow. Stay hydrated, get some rest, and get ready for water games tomorrow!
